Background
Histone Deacetylases (HDACs) are involved in histone deacetylation, which regulates transcription. HDAC6 is involved in multiple cellular processes, such as leptin sensitivity, cell motility, mitosis and stress granule formation. Overexpression of HDAC6 is linked to tumor formation, and mutations have been associated with Alzheimer’s disease. The use of HADC6 inhibitors presents high therapeutic potential for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.
Storage/Stability
At least 6 months at -80°C.
Assay Conditions
Assay was done according to HDAC6 Fluorogenic Assay Kit (BPS Bioscience #50076) with various amounts of HDAC6.
Instructions for Use
Thaw on ice and gently mix prior to use. DO NOT VORTEX. Perform a quick spin before opening. Aliquot into small volumes and flash freeze for long term storage. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Applications
Useful for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling.
