Coronavirus Cell Lines

Understanding the interactions between viral pathogens and host cells is key to developing  effective coronavirus antiviral treatments and vaccines.  BPS Bioscience has developed several Human ACE2 stable cell lines to support studies investigating the mechanisms of action of the SARS-CoV-1, SARS-CoV-2, and HCoV-NL63 coronaviruses in a cellular context.

These cell lines express ACE2 and can be used in combination with our Spike pseudotyped luciferase reporter lentivirus to investigate ACE2’s role in host cell entry and the mechanism of viral infection. These stably transfected cell lines are  also useful to screen for antibodies against human ACE2, for competition binding studies with ACE2 soluble protein, and to determine the Spike-ACE2 blocking effects of neutralizing antibodies.   BPS Bioscience continually adds new cell lines for advanced drug screening studies for new targets, validation of existing targets, and reproducible expression of genes of interest.
