PTP1B (PTPN1) full length, GST-Tag Recombinant
Protein tyrosine phosphatase nonreceptor, type 1 (PTP1B, also known as PTPN1), full length encompassing amino acids 1-435 (end). This construct contains an N-terminal GST-tag, linked to the protein via a short peptide corresponding to a thrombin cleavage site. The recombinant protein was affinity purified and tested for activity.

PTP1B, also known as PTPN1, is the founding member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTP1B catalyze the hydrolysis of the phosphate monoesters specifically from tyrosine residues. PTP1B is involved in signaling pathways that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth and oncogenic transformation and has been shown to act as a negative regulator of insulin signaling. PTP1B has also been reported to dephosphorylate epidermal growth factor receptor kinase, which implicates this phosphatase in cell growth control and cell response to interferon stimulation.
