Recombinant clonal CHO cell line stably expressing full-length human claudin-9 (CLDN9 gene accession number NM_020982). Surface expression of claudin-9 was confirmed by flow cytometry. The stable clonal cell line was selected for high levels of claudin-9 expression compared to the parental CHO-K1 cell line.
Purchase of this cell line is for research purposes only; commercial use requires a separate license. View the full terms and conditions.

Cell surface expression of Claudin-9 in Claudin-9 CHO Cell Line
The cell line has been screened to confirm the absence of Mycoplasma species
Background
Claudins are integral membrane proteins and major components of tight junction strands that serve as a physical barrier to prevent solutes and water from passing freely through the paracellular space between epithelial or endothelial cell sheets. Claudin-9 is one of the 27 members of the Claudin family. Diseases associated with Claudin-9 include deafness, autosomal recessive 116, and Hepatitis C viral infection for which it acts as a co-receptor for viral entry
Storage/Stability
Cells are shipped in dry ice and should immediately be thawed or stored in liquid nitrogen upon receipt. Do not use a -80°C freezer for long term storage.
Growth Media
For best results, it is highly recommended to use these validated and optimized media from BPS Bioscience. Other preparations or formulations of media may result in suboptimal performance.
Thaw Medium 3 (BPS Bioscience #60186): F-12K medium supplemented with 10% FBS, 1% Penicillin/Streptomycin.
Growth Medium 3J (BPS Bioscience #79974): F-12K medium supplemented with 10% FBS, 1% Penicillin/Streptomycin plus 5 µg/ml of Puromycin
Applications
Screen and validate antibodies against claudin-9 for drug discovery and research.
Screen for compounds that regulate or inhibit claudin-9 signaling in a cellular context.
Perform binding assays to screen for potential claudin-9 ligands.
Shipping Temperature
-80°C
