Description

Human ROR1, also known as receptor tyrosine kinase-like orphan receptor 1, neurotrophic tyrosine kinase, and receptor-related 1 (NTRKR1), GenBank Accession No. NM_005012, a.a 24-403, with C-terminal Avi-TagTM fused to the Fc portion of Human IgG1 and expressed in a HEK293 cell expression system. MW = 71 kDa. This protein runs at a higher apparent M.W. by SDS-PAGE due to glycosylation. This protein is enzymatically biotinylated using Avi-TagTM technology.

Background
ROR1 is a glycosylated type I membrane protein that belongs to the ROR subfamily of cell surface receptors that play a role in the control of most basic cellular processes including cell proliferation, differentiation, migration and metabolism. Many human breast cancers express the ROR1 protein and high-level expression of ROR1 in breast adenocarcinoma is associated with aggressive disease. Silencing expression of ROR1 in human breast cancer cell lines found to express this protein impaired their growth in vitro and also in immune-deficient mice.
