Cluster of Differentiation 47, or CD47, plays an essential role in cell growth, death, migration, and adhesion. CD47 binding to SIRP-α mediates phagocytosis by sending a “do not eat me” signal to phagocytes. CD47 proteins are often over expressed by tumor cells as a means for them to escape phagocytosis. As a result, cancerous tumor cells have the ability to proliferate and evade the immune system.

CD47 Antagonist Antibody

Anti-CD47 recombinant human antagonist antibody recognizing the SIRP-α or SIRP-ү binding region of human CD47. This antibody has not been tested for cross-reactivity with any other species.

Storage / Stability:
Stable for at least 12 months at -80°C. Protect from light. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Store diluted antibody with carrier protein (BSA 0.1 – 0.5%) at 4°C, stable for 2 weeks.
Useful as an antagonist to block CD47 signaling and binding to SIRP-α or SIRP-ү in biochemical assays.
